CNN’s Cuomo reports ‘funky stuff’ in his blood work after COVID-19 recovery
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo said Tuesday that his blood work has “funky stuff” in it more than a month after recovering from COVID-19.
“People who’ve been through this have strange tales to tell and not a lot of great answers from doctors to weird stuff in their blood work. I’m one of them,” Cuomo said on air during his prime-time show.
Cuomo said that health-wise he’s not back to where he was before contracting the virus in March.
“I’m not 100 percent. And there’s funky stuff in my blood work that doctors say is what they see in people who’ve had COVID,” he said. “So, freaks me out a little bit, but commiserate is a word for a reason, you know, and people like to suffer together.”
Shortly after Cuomo tested positive, his wife Christina Cuomo and son Mario both tested positive. He told viewers on April 20 that he had recovered and was ending his quarantine after getting the all-clear from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Cuomo said Tuesday that he plans to donate plasma to help others who are fighting the virus.
“As long as other people have the same kind of funky blood work, I’ll just keep taking it one day at a time,” he said.
