Jessica Springsteen failed to qualify for the Olympic individual jumping finals Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.

Springsteen, the daughter of legendary rocker Bruce Springsteen, will have a chance to continue with her Olympic pursuits on Friday night when she will ride in a team jumping event.

The 29-year-old, who was ranked 14th in the world prior to her arrival at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, was penalized during the individual finals when her horse knocked down one of the rails on a jump.

The mishap ultimately cost her one of the 30 spots in the final, and she was outranked about an hour after finishing her course, the AP noted.

However, the equestrian said overall, she’s pleased with her performance.

“All in all, I’m thrilled with the round and I’m excited for the rest of the week,” she said, according to the AP.

Springsteen’s two Olympic teammates, champion equestrians Kent Farrington and Laura Kraut, also did not qualify for the finals. Of the three, Springsteen finished highest-ranked in the individual jumping qualifiers.

Thus far during these games, the U.S. equestrian team has won one medal: a silver in the team dressage event, according to NBC Sports. No Americans have medaled in the individual competitions for dressage or eventing. The U.S. team has medaled in six out of the last nine Olympic games.
