Former first lady Michelle Obama praised her husband’s memoir, “A Promised Land,” on social media Tuesday as it was released in stores nationwide.

In a tweet, Obama wrote that she was proud of her husband, former President Obama, “for this candid, reflective, and beautifully written memoir.”

“I can’t wait for you all to read it!” she added.

“On a personal level, I can’t wait for him to experience what I did after my memoir was published,” the former first lady said in an Instagram post.

“It’s now been two years since Becoming came out and I couldn’t be more thankful for all the stories and conversations that people from all over the world have shared with me. That has been the most rewarding part of writing Becoming – hearing from all of you as you discovered a new beauty in your own journey,” she continued.

The former president’s latest book takes a personal look at his journey to the presidency and his two terms in office, including details about how Michelle Obama initially resisted her husband’s presidential ambitions.

He also writes in “A Promised Land” that he believes his presidency exposed a racist underbelly to American society that contributed to President Trump’s victory over 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
