‘Fearless Girl’ statue installed at New York Stock Exchange
The “Fearless Girl” statue was installed outside the New York Stock Exchange on Monday after standing in front of the “Charging Bull” statue in a nearby park.
“We wanted to raise awareness about the need for more women leaders in the board room and in senior roles in management,” Lori Heinel, an executive at State Street Global Advisors, which originally placed “Fearless Girl” at Bowling Green in New York’s financial district, said in remarks at the unveiling in its new location.
“Fearless Girl was initial supposed to stay in New York for just seven days, but she earned a place in people’s hearts,” Heinel said. “And in doing so, she has earned the opportunity to extend her stay in New York.”

{mosads}It was announced in April that State Street Global Advisors was working with the city mayor’s office to move “Fearless Girl.”
The creator of “Charging Bull,” Arturo Di Modica, disapproved of the addition of “Fearless Girl,” saying it changed his statue from a symbol of prosperity to a villainous creature.
Di Modica’s statue will also be moved to a new spot facing the New York Stock Exchange.
