Trump says he may ‘stop by’ DC rally

President Trump tweeted Friday that he may “stop by” the planned rally in support of him, “Million MAGA March”, in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

“Heartwarming to see all of the tremendous support out there, especially the organic Rallies that are springing up all over the Country, including a big one on Saturday in D.C. I may even try to stop by and say hello,” Trump penned Friday, adding, “This Election was Rigged, from Dominion all the way up & down!”

Last Saturday, The Associated Press, among other mainstream media outlets, called the 2020 presidential election in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

While votes in Georgia’s close race head towards recount phases, Biden’s stiff lead over Trump in essential states like Michigan and Pennsylvania presents a nearly impossible ledge for the president’s goal to audit the election to expose otherwise erroneous claims of fraud or illegally cast ballots.

The president’s refusal to concede the election has sparked dissent regarding the handling of the 2020 elections process among many of his supporters, as a recent Politico-Morning Consult poll reported 70 percent of Republicans do not think Biden won a “free and fair” election.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Thursday that the rally on Saturday would be “quite large,” but did not suggest any estimates or numbers about who will attend.

“I think it’s going to be quite large, um, from what I’m hearing, don’t have an estimate for you,” McEnany said in an interview with Fox News.

Trump is expected to speak at the White House Rose Garden Friday afternoon, addressing the state of the pandemic in the U.S. and progress reports regarding the coronavirus vaccine and Operation Warp Speed.
