Conway: ‘I don’t know’ why ‘Game of Thrones’ poster was in Cabinet meeting
Senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway on Thursday could not explain why President Trump prominently displayed a poster inspired by the HBO series “Game of Thrones” during a Cabinet meeting the day before.
“I don’t know,” Conway replied when asked by reporters why the unusual poster was placed on a table in front of the president during the meeting.
{mosads}The White House aide mentioned that the image, which first appeared on Trump’s Twitter feed in November, is related to Iran sanctions. But the president did not bring up that topic during the Cabinet meeting, nor did he address the poster.
“The president has had sanctions. He’s issued sanctions on any number of countries and individuals,” she said.
Conway said she did not know if Trump watches “Game of Thrones.”
“Oh, I’m not aware of that. I’ve never seen it in my life, sorry. I don’t watch a lot of TV,” she said.
The poster features a photo of Trump behind the phrase “Sanctions Are Coming,” a riff on the show’s ominous slogan “Winter is coming.”
