Trump promotes new sanctions with ‘Game of Thrones’-style meme

President Trump on Friday promoted upcoming sanctions by tweeting a meme inspired by the book series-turned-HBO hit show “Game of Thrones.”

“Sanctions are coming November 5,” the meme reads in the series’ text font.

The post came shortly after the Trump administration announced plans to reimpose the last set of sanctions lifted under the Iran nuclear deal early next week.

Trump announced in May that he was withdrawing the United States from what he once called the “worst deal ever negotiated.”

{mosads}The Obama-era deal, reached in 2015, lifted billions of dollars in sanctions off Iran in exchange for cutting back its nuclear program.

The agreement was between the United States, Iran, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, China and Russia.

Fans are awaiting the highly anticipated series finale of “Game of Thrones” which is expected to air in 2019.

Stars of “Game of Thrones” have been critical of the Trump administration in the past.

Lena Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, warned during the 2016 presidential election that Trump could not be allowed to become a “political might” in the U.S. “He will continue the tirade of aggression,” she wrote in 2016.

Her fellow castmate Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who stars as Jamie Lannister, blasted the president last September for leaving the Paris climate agreement.

“He is the president and he ran on that, he is just following through on his promise. That’s fine — I think it was a mistake to pull out of the Paris agreement, I think it is a grave mistake,” Coster-Waldau said.

Fox News host Chris Wallace said in March that Trump’s West Wing has more drama than Westeros, the series’ fictional world, after a raft of high-level departures.
