Legendary musician Elton John has tested positive for a breakthrough infection of COVID-19, his representatives announced Tuesday, informing concertgoers that the Dallas shows of his massive farewell tour have been cancelled.

The “Crocodile Rock” and “Tiny Dancer” singer is fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and only experiencing mild symptoms, according to his team.

John’s representatives assured ticketholders that new tour dates would soon be announced to reschedule the performances at the American Airlines Center in Dallas and that their held tickets will be honored at the later date that is yet to be announced.

The rock performer is expected to recover in time to play a show this weekend in Little Rock, Ark., according to The Dallas Morning News.

The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was originally announced in 2018, but performances were postponed because of the pandemic.

John recently recovered from a hip surgery, but he told People magazine that he was in a hurry to finish touring in order to spend more time with his children.

“They’re going to be teenagers soon. I need to be with them,” John said. “I’ll be 76 [when the tour is over]. I don’t know how much time I have left on this earth after that. You know, I’ve had enough applause. I don’t want to keep traveling. I don’t want to be away from my family.”
