Louie Anderson dead at 68

Emmy Award-winning comedian Louie Anderson died on Friday from blood cancer complications, his longtime publicist announced.

Anderson, 68, had been diagnosed with a form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and was admitted to the hospital earlier this week, according to his publicist, Glenn Schwartz.

The comedian had won an Emmy for best supporting actor in 2016 for his role on the TV series “Baskets,” in which he played a mother to twin sons.

Anderson launched his comedy career in 1984 on “The Tonight Show,” performing for legendary host Johnny Carson.

The St. Paul, Minnesota-born comedian also hosted the revival version of the game show “Family Feud” in the late ’90s and early 2000s. 

Fellow comedian Pauly Shore put out a tweet on Thursday night signaling his friend’s health decline.

“I say this with a heavy heart just left the hospital in Las Vegas where Louie Anderson his sisters and close friend were kind enough to let me say my goodbyes,” wrote Shore.
