Smokey Robinson predicts Trump will run and lose in 2024

Smokey Robinson says former President Trump better shop around for a job outside the White House, casting doubt that he could recapture his old job in 2024.

“Probably, but I don’t think he’ll win,” the legendary “I Second That Emotion” singer told ITK this week, when asked whether he thought Trump might run again in the next presidential race.

“I think enough people — including Republican people — are aware of him and what he’s about, you know,” added Robinson, 81.

“So even those who will secretly go in and vote for whoever’s running against him — I don’t think he’ll win.”

While Trump has repeatedly teased a potential 2024 White House bid, he hasn’t formally declared his candidacy.

Robinson questioned “where the good Republican people are” in a 2019 interview, telling TMZ that the GOP was “thinking more about their party than they are about their country” by supporting Trump.

The Grammy Award-winning performer, speaking at Sunday’s Kennedy Center Honors in a tribute to Berry Gordy, said not much has changed in the two years since then in terms of Republicans standing up to the 45th president.

“No, I don’t think it happened at all,” he said.
