‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge Derek Hough shares breakthrough COVID-19 diagnosis

“Dancing With the Stars” judge Derek Hough has tested positive for COVID-19, he revealed Tuesday on Instagram.

In a video posted to the social media platform, Hough said he contracted the virus despite being fully vaccinated.

“I feel strong,” the 36-year-old said. “I’m currently taking advice from medical professionals, doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can.”

“I’m currently in quarantine, and I’ll make sure I keep you guys all updated with what’s going on, but I just wanted to send a lot of love out there to you all. Stay safe,” he added.

The professional dancer said that his upcoming Las Vegas shows will be rescheduled for when he recovers. Hough didn’t say if he’ll participate in the “DWTS” season finale, which airs next Monday.

The diagnosis marks the second time he’s had to take off time from “DWTS” due to COVID-19. He temporarily left the show earlier this fall “out of an abundance of caution” after possible exposure, Fox News reported.
