Taylor Swift sends gifts to front-line nurse: ‘I am so inspired by your passion for helping’

Taylor Swift sent a nurse working on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic gifts, including sweatshirts and other merchandise, thanking her for “for being brave enough to put yourself in danger to help others.”

Britta Thomason, a flight nurse from Georgia, shared on Facebook that she received the package from the “Fearless” singer on Tuesday after saying that she was a Swift fan in a recent interview with The Telegraph.

“I wanted to write to you and personally thank you for serving on the front lines of this pandemic and for being brave enough to put yourself in danger to help others,” Swift wrote in a note alongside the package. “I am so inspired by your passion for helping and caring for your patients, and I was so touched that you mentioned liking my music recently!”

Swift said the gift included “some cozy clothes for when you’re off duty.”

Thomason said on Facebook that the gift also included a water bottle and guitar picks. She shared a video of herself opening the package in which she said she was “shaking” and there were “T-shirts for days.”

In an interview with the Georgia outlet last month, Thomason said that she was part of a crew deployed to New York and New Jersey at the beginning of the pandemic in the U.S. She also helped operate resources for health care workers who were exposed to COVID-19 patients.

She said that outside of her work, she’s “a Swiftie. I won’t deny it.”

This isn’t the first time Swift has shown her appreciation for nurses amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Last year, she sent Whitney Hilton, a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, a box of merchandise and a handwritten note.
