Jim Carrey will play Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on the upcoming season of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live,” the network announced on Wednesday.

The show, which enters its 46th season on Oct. 3, has seen several current and former cast members and guest stars take their turns playing the former vice president, including Kevin Nealon, Jason Sudeikis, Woody Harrelson and John Mulaney.

Carrey, who is also an amateur painter, has been a staunch critic of President Trump since he took office and particularly during the coronavirus pandemic.

Maya Rudolph will reprise her role as Biden running mate Kamala Harris, while Alec Baldwin will return to his Emmy-winning portrayal of President Trump, according to “SNL” head Lorne Michaels.

The show plans to return to its 30 Rockefeller Center studio in New York before a limited studio audience, according to the network.

“SNL” premiered on Oct. 11, 1975.
