Queen Elizabeth set to make first public appearance since hospital visit

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II is set to make her first public appearance since visiting the hospital in October.

“The Queen will attend the annual Remembrance Day Service at the Cenotaph on Sunday 14th November,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement Thursday, Reuters reported.

“Mindful of her doctors’ recent advice, The Queen has decided not to attend the General Synod Service and Opening Session on Tuesday 16th November,” the palace added. 

The queen spent a night at a hospital in October for “preliminary investigations” into an ailment. The palace has not disclosed further details, beyond saying the health issue was not related to the coronavirus.

After returning from the hospital, the queen was instructed to take a two-week rest, leading her to skip events such as the U.N. COP26 climate summit in Glasgow. 

The palace said Queen Elizabeth, who will celebrate 70 years on the throne in 2022, was in ​​“good spirits” following her night in the hospital.

The 95-year-old queen has had spectacular health over the years, but was also recently seen at an event using a walking stick.
