LeBron James blasts Kyle Rittenhouse for crying during trial: ‘Man knock it off!’

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James on Thursday blasted Kyle Rittenhouse for crying on the stand during his murder trial, writing on Twitter, “Man knock it off.”

James tweeted his thoughts in response to courtroom footage that showed Rittenhouse breaking down into tears on the witness stand as he described the events of Aug. 25, 2020 in Kenosha, Wis.

He added that Rittenhouse must have eaten sour candy and added that he didn’t see a single tear.

“What tears????? I didn’t see one. Man knock it off! That boy ate some lemon heads before walking into court,” James tweeted along with the crying laughing emoji.

James’s comments come as the 18-year-old made his first public comments as he goes on trial on charges of multiple felonies after killing two people and wounding another during protests following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man.

He faces six criminal charges in connection with the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and the injury of Gaige Grosskreutz, 26.

On Wednesday morning, Rittenhouse sobbed while on the stand as he described the events that led to him shooting Rosenbaum, the first person he killed.

“There were three people right there,” Rittenhouse said, recounting how he was allegedly chased during the protests.

After the judge ordered a recess, a visibly calmer Rittenhouse described how he ran and “defended himself.”

Rittenhouse said he remembered that a gunshot was fired from behind him, causing him to turn around and see Rosenbaum rapidly approaching with his arms out. He added that he remembers Rosenbaum’s hand “on the barrel of my gun.”

When asked what he did when Rosenbaum lunged at him, Rittenhouse said he shot him.

Rittenhouse said he fired at Rosenbaum about four times, after which he tried to reach nearby police.

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Rittenhouse said. “I defended myself.”
