Eric Trump goes after Bidens: ‘Why is it that every family goes into politics and enriches themselves?’

Eric Trump went after former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, claiming he would be in jail if he “was doing the same thing that that family was doing.”

“Here’s reality, they’re fighting a president that has the greatest economy this country has ever seen, the strongest military that we have,” Eric Trump, son of President Trump, told Fox News’s Jeanine Pirro late Saturday while railing against the 2020 Democratic presidential field. “They’re fighting a patriotism that exists in this country that hasn’t existed in a very, very long time.”

{mosads}“They’re fighting all of this, yet they have a candidate that lies about being Cherokee Indian when she’s one one-thousandth and twenty-fourth Cherokee,” he continued, referring to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), before going on to take aim at Joe Biden. “You have a guy whose son is embezzling money from everybody and enriching himself off of, you know his father’s position under –”

“So, then where does Joe Biden get off being so pompous and above it all?” Pirro asks, cutting him off.

“Well, you know, I think American people are gonna see that. He is pompous and they are above it all. And if I was doing the same thing that that family was doing, I’d be in jail,” Eric Trump responded.

His comments come as President Trump faces an impeachment inquiry launched by House Democrats last month after an anonymous whistleblower made a complaint about a phone call the president had with Ukraine’s leader back in July. The whistleblower alleged that the president “sought to pressure” Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky “to take actions to help the President’s 2020 reelection bid” by asking him to investigate the Bidens.

In the weeks since the inquiry has been launched, the president has continued to defend his behavior, and evidence of criminal wrongdoing by either of the Bidens has not been found.

“Why is it that every family goes into politics and enriches themselves?” Eric Trump asked, referring to the Bidens, during his Fox News appearance.

He went on to say that his family “stopped doing deals when my father” became president.

“We stopped doing deals when he went into politics. Guess what, all these kids, they started doing deals when their families went into politics, and it’s sickening,” he added.

President Trump has faced scrutiny throughout his time in office for failing to fully divest from his business interests after taking office. He recently came under fire this past week from Democrats and Republicans after the White House announced he would be holding the Group of Seven summit next year at his Doral resort near Miami.

After receiving a barrage of criticism, President Trump reversed course two days later and canceled the plans.
