Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on Friday predicted he will defeat rival Hillary Clinton in New York’s primary.

“We are going to win New York,” Sanders said on “CBS This Morning.”

{mosads}The Vermont senator touted his huge rally in the South Bronx on Thursday night — reportedly attended by 18,000 people — as evidence he’s off to a “good start” in his home state.

“We’re going to do rallies all over the state, and I think we have a good shot at this,” said Sanders, a Brooklyn native.

Clinton also has personal ties with New York, having served as its senator for eight years.

She leads Sanders by 27 points in the Empire State, according to a RealClearPolitics average of polls.

However, Sanders seems to be gaining ground quickly. A Thursday poll found him within 12 points of Clinton, 54 to 42 percent.

Reports emerged Friday that Clinton will pitch a $10 billion investment strategy in Syracuse, N.Y., aimed at revitalizing American manufacturing.
