DCCC outraises NRCC in first quarter by $5.1M
{mosads}The NRCC now has slightly more debt — $8.25 million — than cash on hand — $8.1 million.
That’s nearly twice as much debt as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), which has $4.5 million left to pay down, and slightly less cash on hand than the $8.9 million the DCCC posted at the end of the same three-month period.
In March alone, the NRCC raised $8.1 million, but the DCCC outraised them in January, February and March of this year, as first reported in Roll Call.
That’s partly due to enthusiastic involvement from Democratic members, more than 50 percent of whom contributed to or raised money for the DCCC in the first three months of the year.
It’s unclear how many GOP members gave to the party’s committee in the first quarter, but the NRCC launched an effort to get members to pay their dues this week.
According to Roll Call, Reps. Todd Rokita (Ind.), Stephen Fincher (Tenn.), Lynn Jenkins (Kan.), Steve Stivers (Ohio) and Jim Jordan (Ohio) are leading the push.
