Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is projected to win the Connecticut primary.

It’s still unclear how many of Connecticut’s 28 delegates Trump will win.

{mosads}The state awards 13 at-large delegates proportionally based on the statewide vote, but Trump would take all of them if he wins more than 50 percent statewide.

John Kasich and Ted Cruz need to win more than 20 percent of the vote in Connecticut to take any of those 13 delegates.

The remaining 15 delegates are given on a winner-take-all basis to the victors in Connecticut’s congressional districts.

Trump hopes to follow in the path of Mitt Romney and John McCain, who both won the Nutmeg State en route to capturing the GOP nomination in 2012 and 2008, respectively.

Connecticut leans left at the presidential level, with President Obama beating Romney by 18 percentage points in the 2012 election.
