Trump takes Maryland
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is projected to win the Maryland primary.
Trump will win a majority of Maryland’s 38 delegates. The statewide winner automatically gets 14 delegates, with the remaining 24 going to the winners of Maryland’s congressional districts.
{mosads}Maryland leans left at the presidential level, with President Obama beating Republican nominee Mitt Romney by 25 percentage points there in the 2012 election.
Trump will likely use his victory in Maryland to argue that he can compete strongly in the general election in states that Democrats typically win easily.
