Ex-campaign manager: ‘Disappointing’ Clinton hasn’t condemned Weinstein

A former campaign manager for Hillary Clinton said it is “disappointing” that the former Democratic presidential nominee hasn’t spoken out against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Patti Solis Doyle, Clinton’s 2008 campaign manager, said on CNN she worked for Clinton for 17 years. She said the rights of women and girls have always been at the forefront of Clinton’s career.

“And as long as I have known her, she really has walked the walk and talked the talk on this,” she said on CNN.

{mosads}”I know her heart is in the right place. So personally it is, it is disappointing that she hasn’t come out and condemned Harvey Weinstein.”

A New York Times report last week revealed allegations of sexual harassment against Weinstein. The alleged incidents reportedly took place over the course of the past few decades.

The allegations against Weinstein grew on Tuesday after The New Yorker reported that three women had accused him of rape. According to the publication, 13 women said they had been sexually harassed or assaulted by Weinstein between the 1990s and 2015.

This past weekend, Weinstein was terminated from his position as co-chairman of The Weinstein Company.

Doyle said what Weinstein did was “repulsive, diabolical, awful.”

“And as far as I’m concerned, he should not just be fired, but go to jail,” she said on CNN, “because what he did was a crime.”
