Biden to make first WHCD appearance: report
In his last year in office, Vice President Joe Biden is ready for prime time.
Biden will make his first appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner tonight, ABC News reported on Twitter.
{mosads}The light-hearted event known as “nerd prom” caps a busy week for the vice president.
Biden landed in Iraq on Thursday for a surprise visit. He held meetings with Iraqi leadership as they struggle to battle the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
And Biden spent Friday at the Vatican, where he talked about initiative to find a cure for cancer and reportedly met privately with Pope Francis.
Though Biden hasn’t appeared at a White House Correspondents’ Dinner before, he filmed a video with Julia Louis-Dreyfuss of HBO’s “Veep” that was played at the 2014 dinner.
Biden’s long indecision before electing not to run for president last fall is sure to a target for mockery at this year’s event.
