Clinton shoe-hurling suspect released

Las Vegas police have released the woman accused of throwing a shoe at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during a speech Thursday.

{mosads}Alison Ernst, 36, was given a misdemeanor disorderly conduct summons and freed from the Clark County jail, according to the Associated Press.

U.S. Secret Service agents said Ernst appeared aware of allegations against her during questioning.

“Ms. Ernst appeared to be in an agitated state but aware of what she had just done,” the police report said.

Clinton was delivering a keynote address to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries when she ducked to to avoid a shoe being thrown at her from nearly 60 feet.

Ernst could face up to a year in jail if she is convicted of violating a county ordinance at the Mandalay Bay hotel-casino.
