Watch live: Obama speaks after receiving ethics award

Former President Obama on Friday will give a speech at the University of Illinois after he receives the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government from the university.

It is Obama’s first speech as he hits the campaign trail in the weeks leading up to the November midterm elections. He also has appearances slated in Ohio and California backing candidates attempting to unseat Republican incumbents.

He is scheduled to speak at 12 p.m.
