Dem: White House could be more transparent on drone policy
A top-ranking House Democrat says the White House could be more transparent on its drone policy.
Intelligence Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) tells The Hill that a bipartisan bill he recently introduced would make the administration’s use of the targeted killings more public.
{mosads}”This a way I think they could be a lot more transparent … this would be a way for the administration to be more accountable, to be more public,” Schiff explained shortly after introducing the “Targeted Lethal Force Transparency Act” with GOP Rep. Walter Jones (N.C.).
The measure would require the administration to publish the number of individuals killed or wounded in U.S. drone attacks, and whether those individuals were targeted or civilian casualties.
