Michelle’s high five on ‘Parks and Recreation’

First lady Michelle Obama became the latest high-profile member of the White House to make a cameo on the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” appearing in the series’ season finale that aired Thursday night.

The first lady provided an inspirational pep talk for Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope, a civil servant who weighing a job offer with the National Parks Service.

“We need passionate people like you on our national parks,” the first lady told Poehler’s character, prompting vigorous nodding.

{mosads}”Are you nodding because you agree with me?” the first lady asked.

“Yes, I do agree with you,” came the star-struck response. “I agree with you on all things throughout history until the end of times forever.”

The pair also discussed the first lady’s home town of Chicago and went on to share a high five.

In 2012, Vice President Biden made a cameo appearance on the show. Poehler’s character famously has a crush on the vice president.

Other political figures — including Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) — appeared in an episode taped in Washington, D.C. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) has also made a cameo.

The first lady and Poehler appeared together in real life last February, promoting the fourth anniversary of the first lady’s fitness initiative at a parks and recreation center in Miami.
