Paul: NSA actions unconstitutional

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said his planned class-action lawsuit against the National Security Agency would show that the government’s surveillance policies are too broad and unconstitutional.

{mosads}Paul, appearing on ABC’s “This Week,” said that the suit would allow regular people to object to having a single generalized warrant cover large numbers of cell phones, and that the government should be forced to specifically seek the records of individuals.
“That’s what we fought the Revolutionary War over,” Paul said about generalized warrants.

“I think the idea of a class action lawsuit with hundreds of thousands of participants really beats home and brings to the forefront the idea that this is a generalized warrant and it should be considered unconstitutional.”
