Watch live: Trump holds news conference with Turkish president

President Trump is set to join Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for a joint news conference at the White House on Wednesday afternoon. 

Trump is meeting with Erdoğan roughly a month after he announced the withdrawal of U.S. troops from northern Syria, paving the way for a Turkish military operation in the region and sparking criticism from some of the president’s strongest defenders on Capitol Hill.

The news conference also comes on the same day as House Democrats launched the first of several public impeachment hearings focused on Trump’s dealings with Ukraine. 

The event is set to begin at 3:10 p.m.
