House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) delivered an address on foreign policy Monday at Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, in advance of the upcoming NATO summit in Washington.
The Hudson Institute has a stance favoring more active engagement on the world stage than that of former President Trump, a NATO skeptic. Johnson backed this year’s support to Ukraine, with an implicit commitment to NATO members, despite pressure to back down from some other Republican members.
Johnson spoke at 2:15 p.m. EDT.
