President Biden is slated to deliver the commencement address at the U.S. Military Academy Saturday in New York.
The speech marks the second time Biden has participated in West Point’s graduation ceremony. He gave the commencement address in 2016 as vice president.
It is also the second one he has given remarks on campus since universities around the country became hotbeds for protests over the Israel-Hamas war. During his address at Morehouse College earlier this month, Biden decried the “humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” adding that it is “heartbreaking.”
While much of the campus unrest has largely been stifled by police and university leadership, concerns over Israel’s continued actions in Gaza are likely to come up in Saturday’s West Point speech as well.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am EDT.
