Lara Trump, Byron Donalds kick-start CPAC 2024: Watch live

Former President Trump arrives on stage during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) gets underway Thursday with its first full day of speakers.

The event, which formally started Wednesday but begins in earnest Thursday, will feature leading GOP figures, including former President Trump, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), and former United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Trump and his supporters have dominated the conference in recent years. This week, much of the attention will likely be on which potential vice-presidential pick will win the CPAC straw poll. Additionally, speakers could weigh in on several major issues, including abortion and future U.S. support for Ukraine.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) is set to be the first speaker Thursday, beginning at 10:20 a.m. EST.

Lara Trump, the GOP presidential front-runner’s daughter-in-law and his pick for co-chair of the Republican National Committee, will speak at 1 p.m.

Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Liz Truss and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (I) are also expected to address the crowd Thursday.
