Supreme Court holds oral arguments on Trump Colorado ballot eligibility: Listen live
The Supreme Court is slated to hold oral arguments Thursday as former President Trump’s lawyers appear before the justices in an attempt to demolish lawsuits challenging the GOP front-runner’s ballot eligibility under the 14th Amendment.
Thursday’s arguments are set to be the most momentous milestone yet in the patchwork of challenges seeking to prevent Trump’s return to the White House due to his alleged actions surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
The Supreme Court agreed to take up the matter after Colorado became the first state to disqualify Trump. The justices’ decision is poised to dictate the former president’s ballot status nationwide.
Touting his recent primary wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, Trump’s team warned the justices that disqualifying him would “unleash chaos and bedlam.”
The argument is scheduled for 10 a.m. EST.
