White House holds press briefing as holidays approach: Watch live
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and national security spokesperson John Kirby are slated to hold the daily press briefing Thursday afternoon.
The briefing comes as the Senate wrapped up its work for the year Wednesday and headed home for the holidays without a deal on Ukraine funding or border security.
A group of Senate and White House negotiators plan to hold virtual meetings over the Christmas and New Year’s break on an emergency foreign aid package — but Congress isn’t expected to vote on anything until next month.
The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
