FBI Director Christopher Wray testifies before Senate on oversight of bureau
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hear from FBI Director Christopher Wray at a hearing to discuss the potential renewal of surveillance powers granted to the bureau under a section of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
The powers, set to expire this month, have come under question as an overreach into expectations of privacy. Wray is expected to defend their renewal as necessitated by threats from players such as China and Iran.
The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. EST.
