White House holds press briefing: Watch live
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is delivering a daily press briefing Tuesday afternoon. She will be joined by national security spokesperson John Kirby.
President Biden will be traveling to Minnesota this week, a trip the White House says was already in the works before Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) launched his primary bid for the Democratic nomination in 2024. Biden will actually forgo declaring candidacy for the New Hampshire primary, which Democratic Party leadership aims to bump from its traditional first-in-the-nation status. Biden supports that change.
The briefing also comes after the White House ripped House Republicans for their proposal to pay for aid for Israel amid its war with Hamas by cutting funds for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT.
