Former President Trump is set to deliver remarks Monday afternoon in Iowa. The campaign events come as a federal judge imposed a gag order on Trump that bars him from attacking future witnesses in his election interference case, as well as prosecutors, court staff and their families.
Judge Tanya Chutkan emphasized that Trump’s candidate status does not give him carte blanche to launch a “smear campaign” against individuals involved in the case. “First Amendment protections yield to the administration of justice and to the protection of witnesses,” she added.
