White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is holding a daily press briefing Friday, joined by Director of the Office of Management and Budget Shalanda Young.

House GOP leaders held their first impeachment inquiry into the president Thursday, while barreling toward a government shutdown.

President Biden has in recent days shuttled across the country: visiting Michigan to support the United Auto Workers strike; flying to California to address the challenges of artificial intelligence with tech advisers; and yesterday paying tribute to the memory of John McCain in Tempe, Ariz., and announcing that funds from the 2021 American Rescue Plan will aid Arizona State University and the McCain Institute in the construction of the McCain Library.

Biden returned to Washington Friday to join the farewell ceremony for departing Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley.

The briefing is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
