White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is holding an audio-only press briefing Tuesday morning aboard Air Force One, as President Biden travels to Michigan to join striking members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union on the picket line.
Biden’s trip marks a significant display of support for organized labor as UAW members in 20 different states strike amid a contract dispute with the “Big Three’ automakers — Ford, General Motors (GM) and Stellantis, as The Hill reported.
Tuesday morning’s event is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. ET.
