President Biden and Vice President Harris on Friday afternoon are officially launching a new White House office to address gun violence.

Members of Congress and mayors and survivors of gun violence will join Biden and Harris at the Rose Garden event.

A senior administration official stated that a focus of the new office will be to implement policies related to gun safety already in place, such as the 2022 bipartisan gun control law.

The office, to be led by White House assistant to the president Stephanie Feldman, will also advise the president on future actions, and coordinate support for law enforcement and survivors of gun violence.

The event is scheduled to begin at 2:45 p.m. ET.
