White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold the daily press briefing Tuesday afternoon. The Biden administration is continuing this summer’s push to promote visibility for provisions of the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act. Earlier on Tuesday, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced the first batch of prescription drugs eligible for price negotiation under Medicare.

But at the same time, supply chain disruptions continue to threaten several other medications, a problem requiring ongoing attention from the Food and Drug Administration. Legislation under consideration could give the agency increased oversight of supplies.
