President Biden is slated to deliver remarks Tuesday afternoon on the Inflation Reduction Act and climate change in Arizona from the historic Red Butte Airfield.
The White House announced that Biden will designate lands just outside Grand Canyon National Park a national monument, the fifth of his presidency.
The designation of the Grand Canyon National Monument has long been sought by Native American tribes who hold the area sacred. It has also been a major ask among state and federal lawmakers.
The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
