Schedulers make Capitol Hill tick. From managing lawmakers’ calendars to making sure offices meet key deadlines, operations staff help make things run smoothly in Congress.

Here are 10 top schedulers and operations staff based on colleagues’ recommendations:

Jen (Heins) Davis, chief of staff — Sen. Grassley (R-Iowa)

Jen Heins Davis is a reliable and loyal public servant. Ten years into her Hill career, she continues to be dedicated to her boss, Grassley. Jen was recently promoted to chief of staff, where she now runs the operations of a top Senate office. Jen can take on tough challenges, like planning a wedding while never letting her work suffer. Few things are more difficult!

Liz Natonski, scheduler Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.)

Liz Natonski may have the best dog ever, Jimmy, but according to her colleagues, she is just as cool. Her experience in state and national politics, combined with her bright personality, make her an asset on Heinrich’s team. She is a true go-getter and is equally as passionate about her fantasy football team and the man you can’t escape, Travis Kelce.

Krista Perkins, operations director Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.)

Krista Perkins joined Speaker Mike Johnson’s team close to a year ago, and we can only imagine how busy she is right now. After getting her start in politics as a District Intern for state Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas), she then came to D.C., working for Rep. Robert Brooks (R-Wisc.) and Granger before making her way to Johnson’s office in plenty of time for his big ascent. She was recently promoted to operations director and it’s just the beginning!

Ashley Morril, deputy scheduler Sen. Peter Welch (D-Vt.)

Ashley Morril is a jack of all trades, working her way up in the ranks in Sen. Patrick Leahy’s (D-Vt.) office before transitioning over to Welch’s office. While she’s killing it in the operations world, her passion is foreign policy, and she assists the foreign policy team any chance she gets. We can’t wait to see where her hard work takes her next!

Mikalah Skates, deputy chief of staff/scheduling director Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.)

Mikalah Skates is a force to be reckoned with on the Hill. She’s a triple threat with majors in international affairs, political science, and French from the University of Wyoming and has five years of Hill experience. She keeps a work life balance by diving into many interests outside of work, such as cooking, dreaming of Paris, and memorizing the Hamilton soundtrack. Impressively, she was nominated for the list by multiple Democrat offices!

Rachel Skeirik, scheduling assistant Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.)

Rachel Skeirik’s colleagues describe her as “wonderful.” She interned on the Hill during college and then moved to D.C. to look for a job. She joined Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s team and eventually found her passion in the admin world with Murray. She has an interesting Hill story/journey, so make sure to reach out on CNCT to grab a coffee!

Bronti Viskovich, operations director Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.)

Bronti Viskovich is a committed member of Rogers’s team, regarded by her colleagues to have a “servant’s heart.” Another triple threat graduate out of Ole Miss, Bronti graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and government, international affairs and Spanish. Bronti’s determination lives on as the sole scheduler for a committee chairman. Her service to her team and boss is certainly appreciated by those around her!

Megan Alberto, scheduling director Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.)

Megan Alberto is a Massachusetts native, through and through. She graduated from UMass Amherst in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree and an Masters of Public Policy. During her time in school to now, she’s been steadily climbing her way up in Markey’s office. Megan has the Markey office running like a well-oiled machine, and her colleagues couldn’t be more grateful.

Diego Pina Sterling , scheduler Rep. Reschenthaler (R-Pa.)

Diego Pina Sterling is an Arizona State University grad who has quickly made his mark on the Hill. Diego hitched his wagon to Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-Ariz.), volunteering on his campaign and following him to D.C. Now, Diego works for Reschenthaler, where his colleagues describe him as “prompt and efficient.” He can anticipate what the team needs from him, and he always makes sure to fulfill those expectations.

Bobby Bivens, director of operations  House Foreign Affairs Committee

Bobby Bivens knows how to keep his boss on track. This is extremely impressive, considering Bobby is the scheduler for both the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Ranking Member, Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.). According to his co-workers, his drive is matched only by his vibrant personality. He is quick to respond and kind. Whether you need a calendar spot or an emotional pick-me-up, Bobby will be there for you.
