Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg returned to work at the Supreme Court on Friday after missing a day of oral arguments due to illness.
Ginsburg participated in the court’s end-of-the-week conference meeting, during which the justices discuss recently argued cases and consider additional disputes to take up.
The 86-year-old justice was absent from arguments in two cases on Wednesday. According to a court spokeswoman, Ginsburg was home with a stomach bug.
Chief Justice John Roberts said Ginsburg would participate in deciding the cases based on written briefs and oral argument recordings.
Ginsburg’s absence came a day after she joined the court’s eight other justices in hearing arguments in the landmark dispute over President Trump’s repeal of the Obama-era program that protects certain undocumented immigrants from deportation.
Ginsburg, a four-time cancer survivor and the leader of the court’s liberal wing, has faced recurring health concerns.
In January, she missed her first oral argument in more than 25 years while recuperating from surgery to remove cancerous nodules from her lung.
