Trump takes a swing at prosecutors in legal cases: ‘Bad people who hate our country’

Former President Trump took a dig at the prosecutors in his legal cases in a post online Saturday, calling them “bad people who hate our country.”

“Deranged Jack Smith, Letitia “Peekaboo” James, Alvin Bragg, the J6 Committee of Political Thugs (who have deleted and destroyed all evidence and findings), and all of the rest of the Biden prosecutors and ‘bad people who hate our Country,’ are just as guilty as Fani Willis,” Trump posted on his Truth Social site. “It’s Biden Investigations for purposes of ELECTRION INTERFERENCE. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s post came just a day after Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis, who is overseeing his Georgia election interference case, acknowledged that she had been in a personal relationship with the top prosecutor in the case, Nathan Wade.

The former President’s post also targeted special counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing his federal election subversion case, related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riots on the Capitol, and his case surrounding retention of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate after leaving the White House.

Trump also hit New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), who sued him in 2022 and claimed there is evidence of fraud. Judge Arthur Engoron ruled in September that the former president and his adult sons committed fraud by deflating and inflating Trump Organization assets in order to obtain certain benefits.

He also included Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who’s decision to convene a grand jury investigating Trump’s hush money case last year led to the first criminal charge against a former U.S. president.

Trump, who is on track to become the GOP nominee for the upcoming election, is tangled in a web of legal troubles that already have begun to play out in courtrooms across the country.

He is defending himself against a total of 91 criminal charges among four state and federal criminal indictments. He is also a party in more than a half-dozen civil lawsuits.

The post online comes just days after federal election filings show Trump’s various political committees spend nearly $30 million in legal fees during the second half of 2023.
