The National Rifle Association (NRA) launched a $1 million television campaign Monday in support of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch.

“Judge Gorsuch is an outstanding nominee and will protect our fundamental right to keep and bear arms,” said Chris Cox, the NRA’s top lobbyist.

The NRA endorsed Trump on the campaign trail and said the biggest issue for gun owners is confirming a Supreme Court justice who respects the Second Amendment.

{mosads}With this in mind, the gun lobby mounted a big push to support Gorsuch.

The gun commercials target four Senate Democrats — Sens. Joe Donnelly (Ind.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Claire McCaskill (Mo.), and Jon Tester (Mont.) — who represent red states that voted for Trump last November.

“Heidi Heitkamp says the right things on guns,” the ad says. “Now, she has a chance to prove it. Your freedom is on the line. President Trump chose a pro-gun judge for the the Supreme Court. Tell Heidi Heitkamp: ‘Say no to Chuck Schumer and the liberal elites. Vote to confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch.’”
