New regs for Friday: Babies, fish, cosmetics
Friday’s edition of the Federal Register contains new rules for baby products, fish and cosmetics.
Here’s what is happening:
Babies: The Consumer Product Safety Commission is proposing new safety requirements for certain infant sleeping products.
The safety rules will protect babies while they sleep.
The public has 75 days to comment.
Threatened: The Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) will not protect certain fish.
The FWS proposed listing the headwater chub and certain roundtail chubs as threatened species in October 2015, but the Trump administration on Thursday withdrew the rule.
Cosmetics: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is considering new cosmetics regulations.
The FDA announced Thursday it will hold a public meeting on May 25 to discuss potential cosmetics regulations in advance of an international conference on the topic this summer.
