New regs for Monday: Nuclear, water, acquisitions
Monday’s edition of the Federal Register contain new nuclear security guidelines, water safety requirements, and acquisitions regulations.
Here’s what is happening:
Acquisitions: The Department of Veterans Affairs proposed new acquisition regulations.
“Acquisition regulations become outdated over time and require updating to incorporate additional policies, solicitation provisions, or contract clauses,” the agency said Friday.
The public has 60 days to comment.
Communications: The Federal Communications Commission is proposing new eligibility requirements for the Connect America Fund.
The public has 30 days to comment.
Water: The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is correcting mistakes made in new water safety requirements.
FERC issued new safety requirements for water power projects last April, but is now going back to fix minor errors in the rule.
Nuclear: The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is considering new security guidelines.
The guidelines would address the design of non-light water reactors.
The public has 45 days to comment.
