Gamblers place bets ahead of final Clinton, Trump debate
As Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton prepare to take the stage in Las Vegas for the third presidential debate Wednesday evening, oddsmakers are taking bets on everything from whether the candidates will shake hands to how many times Trump will say he wants to “Make America Great Again.”
Clinton is the favorite to win the election in November — one gambling website is so confident of her victory, it has already paid out on those bets — but before that, there is one final debate to bet on.
Here is a sample of wagers on the third debate people can make at the online gambling site Bovada:
—Who will be the first to interrupt the other?
—Will Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton shake hands before the debate begins?
—How many times will “Wikileaks” be said?
—How many times will Trump say “rig” or “rigged?”
—How many times will Donald Trump say tremendous?
—How many times will Trump say “Make America Great Again?”
The online gambling website has posted -600 odds for Clinton winning the election, meaning that for every $600 someone wagers, they would receive $100 if she wins.
For every $100 someone wagers on a Trump victory, the bettor would receive $400 if he wins.
