A European airline is imposing a three-drink limit on passengers who are purchasing alcohol on board its flights, USA Today reports

The company, Scandinavian Airlines, is making the change in an effort to reduce mid-flight disturbances, according to the report.

“We had a few situations last year, but I can’t go into the details,” the paper said Scandinavian Air spokesman Malin Selander told The Local news site in Sweden.

{mosads}”These are not hard and fast rules, but guidelines that cabin crew can lean on so that if passengers appear to be getting too drunk they can be asked to stop drinking,” he continued.

The alcohol limit would apply to flights within Europe, according to the report.
