Low-cost airlines like Southwest and JetBlue airlines are facing far fewer complaints about their service than long-time “legacy” carriers like Delta and American airlines, Bloomberg Businessweek reports.
The difference is attributed to problems stemming from recent mergers between large airlines and legacy airlines carrying more business travelers, who typical pay more for their tickets and are more aware of Department of Transportation regulations about air service, according to the report.
{mosads}There were 755 complaints about airline service filed in November 2013, which is the most recent month statistics have been compiled for.
The statistics revealed that there were 10 complaints about baggage problems on United Airlines since it merged with Continental Airlines for every one that was filed for similar issues with Southwest Airlines.
